The GRYWL was formed in 2016 with 7 teams in the inaugural season. The basis for the league was to grow the sport of wrestling by expanding the town based programs and creating a sense of pride for the school district teams our kids will eventually be competing for. 

In only the first three seasons, the GRYWL is responsible for inspiring 6 towns to form new town based teams, just to be able to compete in the GRYWL.
